DAY 6 & DAY 7
So I haven’t had much to show for the past two days. My work schedule has got me lacking in content to actually publish. More than anything, I’m still following through with the juices. I like variety in juice making, more so that no juice is ever really the same. Although, I use a lot of the same ingredients, something about each attempt is different. It’s good, so that I can share all the possibilities. Something I never thought of doing too was using melons!! It’s a great way to save money in the fact that they produce a lot more juice versus apples and veggies. Most importantly, veggies should still be the primary ingredient in the juices. (I will contradict that in one of my juices ;])
So here is list of some activities and menu items for DAY 6 and DAY 7:
DAY 6
Woke up, Cup of Carrot Juice
Work, brought with me a bottle of Carrot Juice and a bottle of GreenJuice#1
Break, 2 cups of water and some Carrot Juice
Lunch, Half Bottle of Carrot Juice and Half a bottle of GreenJuice#1
Break, 2 cups of water and the rest of the Kirkland Carrot Juice
Home, Run for 4 miles
Cup of water and GreenJuice#1
DAY 7
Wake up, 2 cups of water
Church
Cup of water
Made new SweetJuice which consisted of: (melon bowl from albertsons) 1/3 cantaloupe, 1/3 honeydew melon, 1/3 watermelon, 5 apples
2 cups of water, Glass of SweetJuice
Cup of Unsweetened Almond Milk
Work, Half cup of SweetJuice before leaving
Break, 1/4 of bottle of SweetJuice
Lunch, 1/2 bottle of SweetJuice and cup of water
Break, 2 cups of water and the rest of the SweetJuice
Home, 2 cups of water
So these past two days have been low on actually food/juice consumption. Being busy at work doesn’t allow me to really concentrate on the fact that I may be hungry. The most important thing for me to be alert is to stay hydrated. If it wasn’t for my high intake of water, I wouldn’t be able to stand. Oddly, sitting for too long makes me nauseous. I constantly look for something to do. The more I’m moving the better I feel!
More and more my appetite decreases. If I get hungry, I always go for a glass of water first. Then after I judge whether or not I’m ready to eat.
Strength still seems to be an issue, but I have to take my time with working out. I can’t over extenuate my energy or else I’ll probably pass out. After running I have felt like that, being dizzy and weak, but it’s just a sign to pace myself. It is also due to the fact that before this three day streak of running, I hadn’t run for over a month and a half. My stamina was nowhere near where it was before. Patience is all I need.
DAY 5
Today was not as eventful as the previous, but proved to be another challenge. Strength and energy played out to be the biggest setbacks to getting some things done with exercise. Overall, the cravings continue to deepen and my want to take food off the TV play out rapidly in my mind. Discipline! Is what I am depending on to keep moving forward.
Here’s the menu and daily activities for DAY 5:
Wake up, Glass of water
Full cup of the StrawberryKiwi LemonLimeAde + Trader Joe’s Pineapple Juice
2 cups of water
25 minutes of P90X Yoga
Half cup of Oat Milk
Another cup of the StrawberryKiwi LemonLimeAde
Cup of water
3 mile run
Half a cup of GreenJuice#1
2 cups of water
Bottle of the StrawberryKiwi LemonLimeAde
Cup of water to end the night
So with an uneventful day, I tried to pick up my workout regiment adding in some Yoga. It provides me with on opportunity to relieve stress build up in my back. The tough part is the lack of strength I have from minimal carbohydrate intake, but I have to train my body to rely on a different source of energy. It will soon get better.
My run as well proved to be a challenge due to the fact that I have been away from consistent running for over a month, additionally my run/hike had already tired out some of my leg muscles in going 100%. The hills will only make my flatland run that much easier in the end.
I will do an official weigh in soon! Things are looking good! :]
WEIGH IN:
DAY 5
181 (-6 pounds)
PS
Big ups to papaburgundy for the cameo and those peace signs!
DAY 4
In attempts to start my workout regime going, I kicked off my training for the Disneyland Half Marathon. To keep things simple I found some small hiking trails in the Diamond Bar area and explored possible training routes. Steep trails are not the biz when it comes to marathon training, but it is great strength training. I also played some ball at Pantera Park, more so just to break a good sweat and get the adrenaline rolling.
The temptations continually increase with smells of food passing by constantly, but they are starting to trigger reluctance to actually wanting the foods. Still, I would love to tear through some french fries, but wouldn’t like to retain all the fat they possess. :]
So here is DAY 4’s menu with the various activities of the day:
Woke up, Glass of water
Half cup of Oat Milk
Hour later, another glass of water
Bought groceries, Made a StrawberryKiwi LemonLimeAde consisting of: 4 limes, 4 lemons, 15 packets of Stevia (In the Raw), approx 2 cups of water, box of strawberries, 7 kiwis [*with 3 strawberries and 2 kiwis pureed]
Another glass of water
Glass of the StrawberryKiwi LemonLimeAde
Prepared my GreenJuice#1 which consisted of: ream of celery, crown of broccoli, 1 cucumber, bag of spinach, 3/4 a bag of grapes, 1 lemon
Played Basketball, Had a bottle of GreenJuice#1
More water
As the days progress the number of times I have to use the restroom increase. Luckily I still haven’t beaten my record of 10 trips, but who knows, it’s always a possibility. My constant search to stay productive is steadily getting consistent, which allows me to keep in alignment with getting the things I’ve been wanting done completed. (A little run-ony ;])
Exercise helps to boost my energy in doing more things for the day. Although I don’t recommend going at 100% at first, because the lack of food may fatigue you already, but putting a good 70% into working out is a good start.
I look forward to seeing more progress! :]
Bags for your bulk foods
Eliminate the need for one-time use plastic bags with these reusable, washable bulk food bags.
Day 2 & 3:
These past two days have progressively been getting tougher. I enjoy the challenge! Temptations continually rise, seeing all the food I COULD eat, but gladly don’t. Additionally, my hunger continued to increase on day 2, but simmered down due to the fact that I had to pace my eating without a juicer immediately handy.
My daily menu with limited activity for day 2 & 3:
DAY 2
Wake up, cup of water
Half cup Kirkland Carrot Juice
Some cleaning, 2 cups of water
Juicer at Jessica’s; ream of Celery, head of Broccoli, 2 Lemons, 4 Fuji Apples, ream of Kale (made approx. 28 oz liquid)
Cup of water
Movie, Jessica’s Juice
Cup of water
DAY 3
Wake up, cup of water
Cup of Jessica’s Juice
Cup of water
Some cleaning, Full cup of Hemp Milk
Cup of water
Drive up to LA, Half bottle of Kirkland Carrot Juice
Glass of water
Half a glass Trader Joe’s Pineapple Juice
These two days were different from the first. The temptations started to roll in and continue to progress in my mind, but I’m focused on the goal. I also did an unofficial weigh in announcing approximately 185-, so I’ve already shed a few pounds, which will only increase dramatically.
The greatest part is my productivity level is intense. I continue to look to get something done in almost every moment, which allows me to get more and more of my ideas solidified and more so completed. The sense of relief to get things done is reassuring and allows my want for more successes.
Here’s to more successes to come! Cheers!!
PS, Special thanks to Jessica & Darrell for letting me use their juicer! Thanks again amigos!
To kick of the start of my juicing journey, I did a weigh in and before picture photoshoot. If you can see by the first pictures I weighed in at 187 approximately. At the beginning of this year I was around this weight as well before I started my ten day trial, which was what my goal was in going back to documenting this process more thoroughly.
So to share the first day here is what I ate along with some activities I partook in:
Woke up, Glass of water
Half a glass of Trader Joe’s Pineapple Juice
Another glass of water about an hour later
Robek’s Juice ABC Juice containing: apples, beats, and carrots
Drive to San Diego, A bottle of water
Home, Half bottle of Kirkland Carrot Juice
Beach playing volleyball, A bottle of water and another half bottle of Carrot Juice
Dinner at Extraordinary Deserts, Kiwi Lemonade containing: lemon juice, lime juice, kiwi juice, and sparkling water
Late night, Half glass of Chocolate Hazelnut Milk
Overall,
The day was very eventful, going place to place. being out in front of really tempting deserts and food. Despite the enticing urge to drop the diet, I was able to stick with my commitment. It’s hard!! The Destination is what keeps my focus!
My energy was great too. No huge difference yet as far as withdrawals from food or weakness. Not even fatigue, although that was something I experienced the first time around.
Everything is on its way!
So tomorrow marks the start of my official 30 day juice fast! Join me in my journey through these 30 days in resetting my body to feel better, both inside and outside. It will be difficult, but the destination is the motivation!
I previously attempted to do this fast initially at the start of this year, but it proved to be difficult in maintaining proper documentation. I was successful in committing to the juicing for ten days which proved its effectiveness. In those ten days I was able to loose a total of 18lbs.
The first attempt was very intense. Fatigue was a huge issue that I dealt with in the first three days. After the fifth day, I was able to own the entire diet. Preparation of juices came naturally and the routine of drinking juices came with ease. In the end I felt extremely energized in that I stayed super productive, needed less sleep, and felt happier! More over, everyone around me noticed the difference.
So in pursuing this journey again, I am going to attempt to document my daily routine; which will include juice recipes, workout regiments, and daily activity I will partake in. Additionally, I’ll share with you how I feel from day to day.
My goal through this is to document my progress and have it in a place where anyone curious can join in and take what they may from this. I wish only the best for you all and for myself!
“COME ALONG AND RIDE ON THIS FANTASTIC VOYAGE!” :8]
